Child Rapist from Mingo Junction Sentenced to Virtual Life Sentence

A man accused of raping a 4-year-old child plead guilty on Monday to a long list of charges connected to a sexual assault that happened at his home in Mingo Junction last February. 27 year old Eric Morris was set to go to trial in Jefferson County Court, when prosecutors began to tick off the long list of gruesome charges against him. That changed his mind, and instead, he pleaded guilty to rape of a child. Originally charged with two counts of rape, and creating child pornography, Morris would have faced life in prison if found guilty. Under the plea agreement, he was sentenced to life, but with the possibility of parole. Now, if Morris ever gets out of prison, he will never be able to own, possess or touch a firearm, and he would have to report to the parole board as a sex offender every 90 days.
