Hey everyone, its Tim! I’m a local guy, born and raised in the Ohio Valley. I graduated from Indian Creek where I played baseball and football. I studied broadcasting at Connecticut School of Broadcasting in Monroeville Pennsylvania.
I’m probably the biggest sports fan that you’ll ever meet that doesn’t have a favorite NFL team. I do love my Buckeye’s, Penguins and Red Sox. I don’t watch much tv outside of Sports Center and Impractical Jokers.
Outside of work I enjoy cooking, playing xbox, drinking and working out.
“Someone once said the early bird gets the worm… That’s why I never sleep..”
Howdy yinz! I’m Robert Purkey and I have the greatest job in the world here at 106.3 The River and River Talk. I’m the news director at the station and I continually strive to give you the latest news on what’s happening in the Valley without opinions or conjecture–just the facts!
I was born in nearby Richmond but moved down to San Antonio Texas in 1983. I received my radio degree from San Antonio College and I was the Public Address announcer for various sporting events throughout the city, including at The University of the Incarnate Word.
I started work at the station in October of 2013 and have been enjoying and learning ever since with the best team, music, sports, and news in the Ohio Valley!
Born in the wee town of Wadsworth, Ohio. Which was, at the time, the Match Capitol of the World. Every summer, during Wadsworth Week, the good citizens would erect and light the town’s giant two story matchstick and proceed onto the Toilet Tossing Contest. Not making this up.
I’ve bounced around the country from Cleveland to L.A. and have even been abroad. Well, I’m still a broad…and unbelievably for many decades a broadcaster.
When I’m not working at The River, I love to cook, eat, and drink. Okay, well, mostly drinking. Like my wine.
I’m also blessed to have a wonderful marriage (second time around is definitely better) to hubby Bill Chesson.
